SK5712 : Rothley Court

taken 4 years ago, near to Rothley, Leicestershire, Great Britain

Rothley Court
Rothley Court
Once the home of the Babington family and now a hotel. The main house is a rebuilding and extension of the former Knights Templar Preceptory of the 13th century. The right hand gable visible here formed the dwelling wing of the Templars, much altered to form the symmetrical facade now presented. (The Templar chapel is hidden by the tree to the right). Listed Grade I.
