Bay MacNeil
Bay MacNeil
The Ordnance Survey does not name this bay, but I am indebted to Derryck Morton who tells me that it was once used by boats from Barra which brought the MacNeils' cattle to the mainland, after which they were driven along the old drove roads to market at places like Falkirk. The approach to it has a fine view north towards Rým and Eigg. At the north end of the bay is Eilean Carrach, which is separated from the mainland by a narrow sandy channel that dries out at low tide.
