Behind the bridge is Taylor's Turnover Lock (No 20), so called because the bridge is where horses were able to cross from one side of the canal to the other when the towpath changed sides. Kibworth Bridge is No 75 across the Grand Union Canal (Leicester Section).
Grand Union Canal (Leicester Section)
The Leicester section branches off the main line at Braunston and it is 66 miles long with 59 locks (including two five chamber staircase locks at Foxton) and two tunnels. Near Leicester it continues into the River Soar, hence to the River Trent south of Long Eaton.
