The Big Idea & Bridge of Scottish Invention, Irvine
The Big Idea (Museum of Scottish Invention) & Bridge of Scottish Invention were opened on 15 April 2000 at a cost of 14m. Sadly the Big Idea failed to attract visitors in sufficient numbers and was finally closed in September 2003. Since then the sliding bridge has been left in the 'open' position to allow vessels to pass.
