Holy Trinity Church
One of the finest examples of Perpendicular architecture in England, the legacy of Ralph, 3rd Baron Cromwell who fought at Agincourt with Henry V in 1415 and was appointed Lord High Treasurer of England by Henry VI in 1433. Ralph died on 4th January 1456 and building of Holy Trinity collegiate church started in 1472, finished c1500 by his executors Henry Beaufort and William of Wainfleet, Bishop of Winchester. Most of the 15th century stained glass was heinously removed under cover of darkness in 1754 in a plot hatched by the Lord of the Manor Lord Fortescue .... leaving an interior like a picture gallery where the pictures have been removed, but the frames remain.
