NH5092 : Footbridge below the Carron gorge

Footbridge below the Carron gorge
Footbridge below the Carron gorge
The footbridge over the River Carron below Croick Schoolhouse (now a private house "The Old Schoolhouse") marks the end of 400m of technical gorge paddling which is quite tight at this level (low). The advantage of the river being confined in such a narrow defile is that it provides something worthwhile to run even in a drought such as bedevilled us at Easter 2013 - maikng it worth driving all the way from Fort William to find water.
