Ramsgate Railway Station
Seen from Newington Road bridge. In the early years of the 20th century, there would have been a signal box on the left, controlling the points of a line that swung away from the Minster to Ramsgate Town line to make a connection with the Margate Sands branch. All that remains of the line to Ramsgate Town can be seen on the far right; it forms a siding for rolling stock (some of which can be seen in this view). The signal box was part of St Lawrence Station opened in October 1864 and closed on 3 April 1916.
