Library of Birmingham
Birmingham's latest signature building was opened on 3 September 2013 and is probably currently attracting more tourists than readers. The building is the work of Dutch architects Mecanoo. The old Central Library, a fine example of Brutalist architecture, regarded by some as an 'incinerator' is to be demolished despite attempts by pressure groups to save it.
