Carnwath Motte, Carnwath Golf Course
The 'Motte' was probably the first defensive castle in Carnwath, built around 1150 by William Somerville. This is the only remaining structure of the original Somerville Carnwath Castle.
In the foreground is a bridge on the first hole of the golf course over the Carnwath Burn.
