Winchester Cathedral, West Fascia
Winchester Cathedral, West Fascia
The Western fascia of Winchester Cathedral was completed about 1350 under the orders of Bishop Edington. The fascia would have included a detailed stained glass window but this was destroyed by the parliamentarian troops during the civil war. The current window is made from the fragments of glass recovered after the restoration of the monarchy in 1660 but forms no distinct pattern.
