Denburn Road, Aberdeen (the view from Union Street bridge)
The Denburn valley once accommodated numerous sidings and platforms for the railway serving points north and west of Aberdeen, but they were drastically cut back to a single track in the 1960s to allow the present dual carriageway to be built. The brick spire of the partly ruined Triple Kirks (A-listed), the twin Italianate spires of Belmont Street Congregational Church (A-listed) and the granite tower of the South Church are clearly visible. All are now converted to pubs or nightclubs.
