The King's Head, Monmouth
The King's Head, Monmouth
The King's Head in Monmouth dates from around the mid 17th century when it is reputed that King Charles I visited. In the late 17th century it became a Posting House and in the late 18th and early 19th centuries it was stagecoach house with coaches leaving here for London. The building includes the former Monmouth Bank (c1740) and the County Club (c1877). As can be seen it now a Wetherspoons pub.
