Braiding on the upper River Feshie
Braiding on the upper River Feshie
Where the river here runs through a wide, flat-bottomed valley, it's quite easy to ford when the levels are as low as this. The meandering course also tends to braid into separate channels through the extensive shingle deposits, many of which are formed from eroded glacial moraine.
