NO2521 : Reed Harvesting Boat, Port Allen

taken 10 years ago, near to Errol, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Reed Harvesting Boat, Port Allen.
Reed Harvesting Boat, Port Allen.
Its tempting to speculate that this unusual design of boat, now sadly neglected, was once used for cutting and harvesting reeds, destined to be used in high quality thatching. In the foreground are the dressed ashlar blocks used to build a surprisingly deep harbour wall.
