The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal runs 46 miles from the River Severn at Stourport in Worcestershire to the Trent and Mersey Canal at Haywood Junction by Great Haywood.
James Brindley was the chief engineer when the canal opened in 1771. It is still navigable today.
