Southern aspect of St Cuthbert's Church
The original Victorian lozenge-and-line pattern in contrasting coloured roof slates was rediscovered during repairs in 1970. The roof of the nave sweeps down to the ground-floor mullioned windows of two or three lights, interspaced with chunky buttresses.[After Whiteley's 'Historical Guide']
