SZ0287 : Peeping out

taken 4 years ago, near to Sandbanks, Poole, Great Britain

Peeping out
Peeping out
Seen on Brownsea Island, Dorset. An inquisitive squirrel, giving a nice pose. Squirrel numbers appeared to be a little down on previous years, after a hard winter. However another visit, in October, should prove or disprove this observation. By this time they should all be on the ground, hoovering up fallen nuts.

Where they were seen, they were fairly active; foraging and chasing each other. As I sat quietly, these cheerful little characters seemed happy to come within inches of me, often too close to photograph.
