Field with Old Mine Shaft
Field with Old Mine Shaft
The hummock in the middle of the field marks the site of a shaft which led to 18th century zinc and lead workings. The trees mark the line of a quartz-dolerite sill that cuts across country, forming the Knock and Cockleroy summits among others. Behind the trees is Cairnpapple Hill.
