Mine Shafts
Mine Shafts
The depressions in the ground her are the tops of shafts of the Hilderston Silver Mine, which was worked from 1606 until 1614, when the vein had been worked out. The shafts were re-excavated in the late 19th century, which is why they are fairly obvious once you know they are there.
