50 years ago, on Friday 13th September 1963, the Alacrity ran aground at 6am in thick fog at Portheras Cove. There are dire warnings about the dangers lurking beneath the golden sand and various bits of the ship have been cleared and dumped by the entrance path. But who knows what remains......
