Pilning railway station, South Gloucestershire
Opened in 1886 by the Great Western Railway on the line from Bristol to South Wales through the Severn Tunnel, this station replaced a previous one just out of view to the left which was at a lower level and took the original line to New Passage, where passengers boarded a ferry across the River Severn.
View south east towards Patchway and Bristol. At the time this image was taken, only 2 trains per week stopped here, both on a Saturday.
