Crook Inn, Tweedsmuir
Crook Inn, Tweedsmuir
One of the oldest licensed premises in the country still standing - circa 1604. The Inn has had a chequered history, and has associations with Robert Burns. The art-deco frontage to the eastern part of the building is just the latest extension. The Inn closed in 2006 but is now the subject of a vigorous campaign by the Tweedsmuir residents to reopen it as a vital component in the economic revitalisation of upper Tweeddale.
