New Mills - Stanley House
New Mills - Stanley House
Market Street frontage. For High Street frontage, please see SK0085 : New Mills - Stanley House.
Stanley House was built in 1899 by The Equitable & Industrial
Co-operative Society and in its life time has served many purposes, including providing office space and a furniture and hardware store that retailed for many years. Johnnie Johnson Housing has transformed the building into one and two bedroom quality flats, whilst maintaining most of the original features. See also LinkExternal link. Note that the beehive logo carved into the stone at the gable ends signifies industry.
