The interior of the Market Hall
The interior of the Market Hall
This building, erected in 1810 stands on the site of the former Plas Mawr (Big Mansion), the town house of the Williams family of Penrhyn. It was converted into a market hall in 1824. The beams came from old wooden ships. The market is a trading backwater and the shops tend to specialise eg. haberdashery, knitting wool, art gallery, second hand books etc.
