Alvechurch station
Alvechurch station
This station was opened in 1859 and operated until 1923 by the Midland Railway. It is served today by London Midland Cross-City trains from both Lichfield (Trent Valley) via Birmingham, and Redditch. The electrification of the line, which until 1962 had a passenger service beyond Redditch to Ashchurch, was completed in 1993. Until then the platform was situated slightly to the south of where it is now.
