Departing Platform One
Departing Platform One
A Swindon built Intercity diesel unit (E52105 leading) departs Manchester Piccadilly. Known as Class 123 and initially delivered to the Western Region, these units were transferred to the Trans-Pennine services to work alongside their sister Class 124 units. Intriguingly the unit is running as a 3-car set rather than the normal 4 cars.

In the bay platform alongside is a Class 25 (25318) on station pilot duties. Through the gap the offices on Boad Street can be seen.
