Main Street, Wawne, Yorkshire
Nos.36, 34 & 32 Main Street. Gate Lodge, No.32, designed by John Bilson, was built 1904 as a lodge to the former Wawne Hall, home of the Windham family, demolished in the early 1950s. It has prominent pedimented gables with modillions, and diagonal chimney stacks. It was probably then that the adjoining 18th-century cottages, Nos.34 & 36, were remodelled. They have Tudor-arched doorways and a flat-tiled crested roof with dormer windows and diagonal chimneys.
