ST5393 : St Mary's boltmark

taken 5 years ago, near to Chepstow/Cas-Gwent, Monmouthshire/Sir Fynwy, Great Britain

St Mary's boltmark
St Mary's boltmark
An original Ordnance Survey benchmark on the entrance to St Mary's Priory church in Chepstow. Oddly enough, there is a newer cutmark on the other side of the entrance, perhaps indicating this older version was considered unreliable. See LinkExternal link for the boltmark's entry in the Benchmark Database and ST5393 : Norman style for a wider view.
