Hillingdon: new station under construction, 1993
View SW, towards Uxbridge on the London Underground Metropolitan/Piccadilly line from London via Harrow-on-the Hill and Rayners Lane. The earlier station (see TQ0785 : Hillingdon station, 1978) had been a little to the north (to the right) and was being reconstructed just to the south of the A40 Western Avenue, which was radically altered here into separate dual carriageways in cuttings under the railway.
