Eroding moraine on the Feshie
Eroding moraine on the Feshie
On the outside of a bend, the river is actively cutting its way into a large moraine bank, which in turn is shedding stones and boulders into the river. You can see how the glacial moraine is overlain by a layer of 4 or 5 feet of peat growth.
At low water, it was an easy walk along the base of the bank; I'm not sure I'd venture that way during a good spate.
