Wooden pinnace and landing craft, February 2009
Wooden pinnace and landing craft, February 2009
In the foreground is a landing craft, which would have been used in the Second World War. Amidships, as it were, is a wooden pinnace, whose stem post has split in two as we see from this photograph. This split occurred at some point between December 2007 and February 2008 (I'll later post a photograph of the same vessel with stem post in one piece, taken in December 2007).

This was taken on the final morning of my 15-month-long initial photographic survey of Forton Lake, 18 February 2009.
