London: Mount Pleasant Mail Centre
London: Mount Pleasant Mail Centre
One of the largest sorting offices in the country, Mount Pleasant is the main office covering the City's EC postcode area, which is small in area but immense in terms volume of mail. We see it from across the Farringdon Road/Rosebery Avenue crossroads, with the Post Office branch facing us. The Royal Mail proposes considerable redevelopment of the site, including the release of some of the site for residential and business use. The post office branch is due to be temporarily replaced by a branch at 88-90 Farringdon Road, just behind us now, in early 2014 while the work is carried out.
