TG2930 : Rebuilt Bacton Wood Lock

taken 5 years ago, near to Spa Common, Norfolk, Great Britain

Rebuilt Bacton Wood Lock
Rebuilt Bacton Wood Lock
On the derelict North Walsham and Dilham Canal. There is a project to restore at least part of this canal, this being some of the early effort. As yet there are no lower gates, but these upper gates are new, but with the original and very unusual cast iron balance beams. These were cast locally by G. Cubitt, North Walsham, as was the paddle gear.
