Beef steak fungus [Fistulina hepatica] at Parkend
Looking down on the fungus, which is growing at the base of an oak. Looking like a steak, it can be 'bloody' in appearance, and is edible when in good condition; the specific name [hepatica] refers to its liver-like texture/appearance
