SZ0287 : Diet of Acorns

taken 4 years ago, near to Sandbanks, Poole, Great Britain

Diet of Acorns
Diet of Acorns
Seen on Brownsea Island, Dorset. Other nuts have yet to ripen, so the elusive squirrels were seen generally harvesting semi-ripe acorns. Red squirrels cannot easily digest acorns, unlike their grey cousins, so times must be hard.
