Magdalen Chapter Hotel, Exeter
Magdalen Chapter Hotel, Exeter
The building was constructed to house the Exeter Eye Infirmary in 1901. The work of the infirmary has been transferred to the main hospital in Exeter. The building was converted into a hotel (Hotel Barcelona) which closed, and the building was changed again to be the Magdalen Chapter. The walls facing Magdalen Street have an unusual shape. The central turret still has the inscription that this was the eye hospital
