SD8997 : The edge of the moor

taken 4 years ago, near to Thwaite, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

The edge of the moor
The edge of the moor
On Muker Common looking down towards Thwaite and the valley of Skeb Skeugh. This deep valley has only a tiny beck for drainage, and it is generally agreed that this was the pre glacial course of the Swale, which now finds its way around the other side of Kisdon Hill, the edge of which is to the right.
