Shropshire - Cardington
The other one is in Bedfordshire. This view was taken on the day of a Birmingham Ramblers walk. The Royal Oak is said to be one of the oldest pubs in England and the only one left here since the former New Inn closed. Next door is the 800-year old parish church of St James, with its effigy of Judge William Leighton, then a Chief Justice of Wales and the builder of nearby Plaish Hall. Also in the church are memorials to the Corfield family, of Chatwall Hall.
