On a grave placed within the ruins of the old parish kirk. On the left, "In memory of John-Trotter-Bethune-Lindsay tenth Earl of Lindsay called "the Good", ninth Viscount Carnock, nineteenth Lord Lindsay of the Byres, Lord Parbroath, Kilbirnie, Kingsburn and Drumry, and a Baronet. Born 3rd January 1827, died at Kilconquhar, 12th May 1894."; and on the right, "In memory of Jeanne Marie Eudoxie, daughter of Sieur Jacques Victor Duval of Bordeaux and the beloved wife of John Trotter Bethune tenth Earl of Lindsay died aged 67 years 1897."
