Inside the Shale Bing
Inside the Shale Bing
The bing must have been quarried, perhaps for road or building material. You can see how loose the spent shale is - you have to be very careful wandering about in bings because it would be very easy to lose your footing and go crashing all the way to the foot of the slope. Getting close to the loose edge is a seriously bad idea!
