No clear inviting path, no walkers, no coincidence. The general consensus among walking books about Scotland is that when it comes to Aonach Beag, the preferred approach route is from Glen Nevis to the south. The only other obvious alternative is from the north via Aonach Mr which in fact is an easier approach once the Aonach Nid ridge has been gained from the top of the gondola, a route which leads to Aonach Mr first, enabling both Aonachs to be done in a "there and back" walking route.
