Remains of Greyfriars Friary
Remains of Greyfriars Friary
Ruins of the Franciscan friary founded by 1277 and dissolved in 1538. It was originally located nearer the sea but was moved to this site in 1290 because of the threat of coastal erosion. Surviving remains include the precinct wall with two gatehouses in excellent condition, and the South range of the cloister.
