New Cut, Cuckmere River
New Cut, Cuckmere River
Built in 1847 to improve navigation and tidal flow and scour at the mouth of the river. Viewed from Exceat Bridge and looking towards Haven Brow. The canoeists visible in TV5199 : Old Course of Cuckmere River are now having to precariously carry their vessels down the steps to the river which is at low tide. The car park on the right is for the Golden Galleon pub.
