London: approaching Somerset House
London: approaching Somerset House
A tall, middling and short silhouette approach Somerset House through the main archway entrance off Strand. Ahead of us, across the quadrangle, is the original part of the present building, built in 1776. The east and west wings, forming the facing sides of the square and built 55 years later, are not visible until we get to the archway.
