Who put the Castle in Bishops Castle?-Shropshire
The Norman bishops of Hereford, as Marcher Lords responsible for the defence of the borderlands between England and Wales. By the end of the Civil War the castle was a ruin and this area is virtually all that remains. Buildings along Castle Street and Church Street are thought to be on the site of the outer boundary of the castle.
