TQ7468 : Rochester: the castle

taken 10 years ago, near to Rochester, Medway, England

Rochester: the castle
Rochester: the castle
The tallest surviving Norman keep in Britain, at 113 feet, the castle is right in the centre of the city and was built in 1127 to defend this important crossing point of the Medway. We see it here from the northwest, across the public gardens which were originally the castle's outer bailey.
