Rose by the south porch of All Saints Church, Biddenden
Rose by the south porch of All Saints Church, Biddenden
The present church of All Saints at Biddenden replaced a Saxon wooden church which stood on the site. It was mostly built in the 13th century and had reached its present size by 1300, although the tower is late 15th century.
These lichen-encrusted gravestones and tombs are near the south porch. The houses are between the churchyard and High Street. The single rose adds a touch of colour to the scene.
