Poynings Laine
Poynings Laine
The name of the field according to Seaford's 1839 tithe map that was also marked as Poynings on the 1874 OS map. The name derives from an old landowner who founded a medieval settlement in the adjacent field, see TV5098 : Walls Brow (Site of Medieval Settlement of Poynings Town) for full story.

The foliage on the small rise hides a telephone exchange whilst in the distance both Friston Forest to the right and Windover Hill towards the centre are visible.
