Mass Stone
Mass Stone
The mass stones marked the locations where Catholic services would be held away from churches when observation of the Catholic mass was illegal. A silver chalice, presumably used at this location, was found in the river below this point. The chalice can now be seen in the West Highland museum in Fort William.

Glen Roy was somewhat unusual in that there were two mass stones relatively close to each other: this one and another on the top of the ridge to the east of this point.
