Cwm Craf, Blorenge
Cwm Craf, Blorenge
Looking east along the upper slopes of Cwm Craf, the prominent hollow on the northeast face of Blorenge facing Abergavenny. The hollow is likely a nivation hollow produced over several ice ages rather than being excavated by glacial action (the majority of glacial cwms and corries face northeast) and reveals various rock strata in the steep headwall. 'Brownstones' are capped by 'Quartz conglomerate' and a thin band of limestone which has been extensively quarried along the rim of the cwm. Ysgyryd Fach ('Little Skirrid') in the distance SO3113.
